Blue Bell Ice Cream Recall
Blue Bell has recalled all of its ice cream products in response to a salmonella link between ice cream products and Listeria. More information about the recall can be found at www.cdc.gov/listeria/outbreaks/ice-cream-03-15/index.html.
Listeria is an infection caused by eating food contaminated with the listeria monocytogenes bacteria. Listeria primarily affects older adults, pregnant women, newborns, and adults with a weakened immune system. However, others can without these risk factors may be affected. The Center for Disease Control, CDC, reports that persons with Listeria usually have fever and muscle aches that are sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms.
